community support: isc2 membership fundraiser

Yesterday I reached out to ISC2 to see if there was a way to waive or lower the membership fee for my Certified in Cybersecurity credential due to financial hardship. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to make any accommodations.

Despite my hesitations, I took the advice of a friend and decided to put together a small fundraiser on Ko-Fi to cover the $50 membership fee. I am genuinely blown away by the response. The community came together, and I was able to raise more than the $50 goal amount. Any additional funds will be used to go toward covering the cost of groceries and replacing my lost drivers license.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed and showed support. Thanks to community generosity, I have now officially joined ISC2 and received my Certified in Cybersecurity credentials. This experience has been a powerful reminder of how meaningful it is to be part of communities that share knowledge, curiosity, and mutual aid. Your generosity has made a tangible difference in my journey.
